240 million for property in Monaco

A record 240 million euros for apartment with panoramic view over Monaco paid an investor from the Middle East. This was announced by British newspaper The Telegraph. The apartment "La Belle Époque" (1600 sq. m) situated in the last two floors in a historic building was sold by British entrepreneurs brothers Christian and Nick Candy."This is probably the largest residential transaction of all time," said the newspaper Telegraph. Monaco and the nearby French resorts like St. Tropez, which are preferred by Russian and Arab billionaires enjoyed the rising price of luxury homes this summer, Release Notes.
Candy Brothers spokesman declined comment on the sale. It is, however, that the two businessmen who have hitherto lived in La Belle Époque, moved to another property, again in Monaco.
Nick and Christian spent much of their time on their yacht "Kendiskeyp II". Each of the two separate apartments in the property sold by them, has its own cinema, kitchen, dressing room, two bathrooms, spa, library and gardens.
La Belle Époque " however has a sinister history. In 1999, the 67 years old Edmond Safra - a billionaire banker, died there in the fire, caused by an employee.
